Although it is one of the leading civic tech conferences in the country, PDF remains a work in progress, innovating within its program offerings and remaining relevant to its audience. To that end, PDF’s founders contracted WORKSHOP to work with them on their design, production, and operations as the moved to a new format and new venue. We focused our efforts on a dynamic but intimate stage set, creating fun and clear designs to ensure attendees move easily and efficiently from theater to meals to workshops and focus on enjoying the conference and meeting other guests. In addition, we recruited and managed a few dozen staff and volunteers to serve not only as assistance and information resources but as ambassadors for the event.
